Sharing bereavement experiences and advice

Available on all podcast streaming services from Monday 11th October, the three-part series will hear host Clover and celebrity guests sharing their personal experience of bereavement and the things that those close to them did that really helped them during the toughest times of their lives.

The new series, made up of three 30-40 minute episodes, will provide listeners with advice on how to talk to and best support people experiencing a bereavement.

It launches as part of Sue Ryder’s Grief Kind campaign: a national movement of kindness that aims to help more people provide ongoing support for friends and family experiencing a bereavement.

Opening up about grief

Clover, who has spoken openly about her own experiences of grief following the deaths of both her mother and her sister, is joined by three celebrity guests: TV presenter and founder of Make Motherhood Diverse Candice Brathwaite, BAFTA-winning actress and television presenter Lisa Riley and fashion and textile designer Pearl Lowe. Each delve into their own unique experiences of grief and share personal stories about their life and relationships in their episode with Clover.

Clover says: Right now, being open about grief has never been more important. It’s vital that people aren’t left to cope with their grief alone, but so many of us seem to find it hard to know what to say to or do to support someone who is grieving.

It is something that can profoundly affect you and it is something that almost all of us will experience. That’s why I’m so pleased to have teamed up with Sue Ryder to launch the Grief Kind podcast – the more we talk about grief the more we learn as a society how to better support each other.”

Helping more people get the support they need to cope

We hope that our Grief Kind podcasts provide the right help and inspire the confidence to support loved ones through their grief. Knowing what to say and do for those close to you can be incredibly hard during such a tough time, but we're here to provide the support you need to be there for friends and family.

Running bi-weekly, our next episodes will be with TV presenter and founder of Make Motherhood Diverse, Candice Brathwaite on 25 October and, on 8 November, fashion and textiles designer Pearl Lowe, who will both be sharing their individual experiences of bereavement.

We all have it in us to be Grief Kind, and our movement aims to help more people get the support they need to cope, even through the darkest days.
