Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice

Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice is in Oxenhope, near Keighley. As well as expert palliative care, we support people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. We work across Airedale, Wharfedale, Craven, and north Bradford.

From Monday 14th August, we’re expecting roadworks and possible road closure on Keighley Road (A6033). There will be a diversion in place to access the hospice. Please allow extra time for your journey to us and follow the diversion routes being put in place by highways teams.

About Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice

Hospice care is what we call the treatment and support we offer to people with life-limiting conditions. We combine specialist medical care for managing pain and other symptoms, with other emotional, practical and spiritual support.

You might stay with us to receive inpatient care for a short time, or a longer stay. We can offer the same services and care to you as a visitor, by using our Community Day Services, if you are comfortable and supported at home and prefer to stay there.

On the medical side, our experienced doctors, Sue Ryder Nurses, care assistants, physiotherapists, and occupational and complementary therapists all work brilliantly together to support you. Our Family Support and Spiritual Care teams are always ready to talk too.

Accessing help while you’re living at home

If you’re comfortable at home but need some advice or assistance, try our Community Day Services. Connect with other people in similar circumstances, and our staff can suggest ways to improve your wellbeing and manage symptoms.

There are lots of activities to try, from complementary therapies like Reiki, massage and acupuncture, to arts and crafts and more – and we support your carers too.

Sue Ryder Nurses can coordinate treatment with your GP to make sure your care is controlled and consistent.

Michelle's parents were cared for at Manorlands Hospice

“Nothing is ever too much trouble for the Manorlands staff, volunteers, doctors and nurses: they will move heaven and earth to make sure every patient and their family feels safe, secure, cared for and at home.”

When I came in, I was in so much pain. Here they gave me the strength to move forward. It’s a place of life. And when I go home, one of the community nurses from Manorlands Hospice comes to see me regularly. I know I am in good hands.
