Neil Goulden has been appointed Chairman of Trustees for Sue Ryder following a formal selection process.
Neil has served as a trustee at Sue Ryder for four years and is currently the Chair of the Financial and Audit committee. He takes over from the current Chair Roger Paffard on 12 July 2017.
Neil spent 14 years as Group Managing Director, Chief Executive, Chairman and Chairman Emeritus of the Gala Coral Group, who were a major corporate sponsor of Sue Ryder. He stepped down from the company in 2014. Neil was formerly Chief Executive of Allied Leisure plc and has also held board positions at Compass Group and Ladbrokes.
Neil spent 19 years (1997-2016) as Non-Executive Director and Chair of various NHS Trusts (acute hospital and ambulance service).
His key interests are health, housing and education. He is the Chairman of Clarion Housing Association, Chairman of the Governors at Nottingham Trent University and Chairman of Ambitious about Autism, an education charity for children with autism.
Building on Roger's legacy

Roger Paffard will be stepping down as Chair of Trustees in July, after reaching his maximum nine years’ service.

I am delighted that Neil Goulden will be taking over and confident that the charity is in safe hands with an exceptionally strong and talented executive team and Council of trustees in place."
