Team up to support Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice
How to turn your passion for your local hospice into funds, friends and fun.
Fundraising support groups play a vital role in raising awareness of the work of Manorlands Hospice, while also raising funds through their own activities and helping support other local events.
We have a few fundraising support groups working with us. Most are based geographically within villages in our hospice's West Yorkshire catchment area, but some focus on interests such as music and cycling.
A support group success story
Getting groups started is the most difficult part; we tried on and off to start one in Riddlesden for years.
Then, back in 2015, a few people showed an interest at a similar time so we struck while the iron was hot, organised a launch meeting in a pub (to keep things social and casual) and it just all came together.
Two years down the road and the Riddlesden and East Morton group have had a great time and raised thousands of pounds for Sue Ryder opening stalls, managing collection cans and running events such as race nights, a ceilidh and the Paint Rush colour run.
