Grace Woodward appointed as Retail Ambassador for Sue Ryder
Sue Ryder has appointed fashion stylist and consultant Grace Woodward to advise on its sustainable fashion and clothing offer for its national retail network.
Grace, who has generously agreed to donate her time and expertise to the charity, will help to shape Sue Ryder as a credible destination for sustainable clothing and fashion.
As well as working to advocate slow-fashion and vintage charity finds as viable alternatives for those who want to reduce their carbon footprint and raise vital funds, Grace will also be working alongside the charity as it works to tackle issues such as reducing the use of single-use plastic in its 450 stores.
“We all need to think more seriously about the impact of fast fashion. Through my work with Sue Ryder I hope to highlight the importance of shopping sustainably.”
“I love clothes, but truthfully- I think we all need to think more seriously about the impact of fast fashion. Through my work with Sue Ryder I hope to highlight the importance of shopping sustainably - whether that is donating unwanted items or picking second-hand and vintage options,” Grace said.
Sue Ryder supports people across the UK through the most difficult times of their life, whether it’s a terminal illness, a neurological condition, or providing bereavement support after the death of a loved one. Having experienced grief first-hand when she lost her own Mother six years ago, bereavement support is a subject close to Grace’s heart. Through her work with Sue Ryder, Grace also hopes to raise awareness of the services offered by the charity, including their online bereavement counselling.
“I’m honoured to be supporting a cause that does such vital work for people at the toughest times in their life and hope to raise awareness of the importance of bereavement counselling and access to the charity’s online bereavement forum.”
She adds: “I’m honoured to be supporting a cause that does such vital work for people at the toughest times in their life and hope to raise awareness of the importance of bereavement counselling and access to the charity’s online bereavement forum. Having experienced grief first-hand, I know only too well why these services are so key to preventing mental health issues further down the line.”
Grace first rose to fame as a judge for Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model and as Fashion Director for hit ITV talent show The X-Factor. She has worked with A-List talent including Pharrell Williams and Florence Welch and as an adjudicator for The Observer Ethical Awards.
