The care we provide

We have two CQC ‘Outstanding’-rated services in the South East: Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice in Reading, with offices in Theale, and Sue Ryder Palliative Care Hub South Oxfordshire, based near Wallingford.

Our multidisciplinary team includes nurses, healthcare assistants, doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and our dedicated wellbeing team, so there are a wide variety of end-of-life care jobs at Sue Ryder.

Together, we provide comprehensive, compassionate care for people with life-limiting conditions, and their loved ones. We support people with a range of illnesses and symptoms, helping them to live as well as possible, and making sure they get the specialist care they need in the last stages of life.

As well as round-the-clock inpatient care at Duchess of Kent Hospice and specialist beds within West Berkshire and Wallingford community hospitals, we also support people in the place they often feel most comfortable: at home.

Expanding our services

Sue Ryder has been awarded a major, long-term NHS contract to grow its compassionate palliative and end-of-life care services across Reading, Wokingham, Newbury and South Oxfordshire.

This means we’ll be recruiting a number of new staff to join us in the new year, including Senior Healthcare Assistants for our growing Hospice at Home service in the South East.
