International Nurses Day 2025

12 May 2025

This year, International Nurses Day takes place on Monday, 12th May. Organised by the International Council of Nurses, the date was chosen to mark the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.

The goal of the day is to celebrate nurses and promote the expertise, skills and dedication that are essential for healthy communities.

We're taking the opportunity to share stories from Sue Ryder Nurses and other nursing team members at each of our hospices and care centres.
