Help improve care through our Hospice User Groups

At Sue Ryder, people affected by terminal illness or grief are at the heart of everything we do.

We want to make sure our palliative and end-of-life care meets the needs of patients and those close to them, so we welcome feedback in lots of ways – including through our Hospice User Groups.

Hospice User Group members work closely with their local Sue Ryder team, sharing their experiences to help shape our care, information and spaces.

We are asked to get involved in a variety of ways, and we regularly work with the clinical team to share what matters most to people. You truly feel listened to, and your views are taken on board.

Use your experience to shape the future of palliative and end-of-life care

We welcome anyone with personal experience of palliative or end-of-life care – as a patient, family member or friend. That includes people who have received inpatient, at-home or community-based care from Sue Ryder, as well as other services.

Their role is to help us understand what matters most to the people who need our support. That might include working with us to develop new services or spaces, reviewing communications, or feeding into Sue Ryder’s wider work to improve palliative and end-of-life care across the UK.

There are such a wide variety of people who join the group, including those who have experienced care at home or as an inpatient. It could be that Sue Ryder cared for a friend, a child, a mother or father.

If you’re interested in helping to shape the future of hospice care, we’d love to hear from you – you can find contact details for your local service below.

We know that everyone has different circumstances, so we want to make getting involved in your Hospice User Group as accessible and flexible as possible. Please get in touch to find out more.
