Sue Ryder Lights of Love West Yorkshire (Haworth) invites you to remember and reflect upon special memories of loved ones in the company of others within your community who are also living with loss.

Remember and reflect upon the lives of loved ones

We understand when someone dies it can raise a range of emotions and we hope Lights of Love will give you a small measure of comfort and reassurance that you are not alone. It is an opportunity to give thanks, leave a dedication in memory and collectively celebrate the lives of people who have died that have meant so much to us.

The Lights of Love service

The service features a welcome from St Michael & All Angels and from Lisa Holland, Spiritual Coordinator at Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice. With performances from Bradford Rock Choir, as well as poems and readings from volunteers and staff, we invite attendees to stay after the service for tea, coffee and mince pies. This is an opportunity to speak to staff, volunteers and members of the family support team, who are at the event to offer support to those who may need it.

The Lights of Love tree will be on display at the church for the duration of the event before it returns to the reflection room at Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice, where it remains for the festive period for staff, patients and their families to add their own dedications.

There are accessible toilets situated at the back of the church. Disabled parking is limited directly outside the church & there is a public car park close by for all attendees.

Caring for families across the country

Last year Sue Ryder provided over 830,000 hours of care to thousands of families across the country, including from our Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice.

At Sue Ryder, we offer a range of free bereavement services that can help you live with loss. Lights of Love is open to anyone who wishes to commemorate a loved one, regardless of when they died and if they were a former patient of Sue Ryder.

We recognise this time of year can be more difficult, so we hope you will join our Winter Lights of Love this December to pay tribute to your loved one who is no longer with us.
