Recycle your Christmas tree and help support our care

We're branching out and encouraging local residents in Peterborough to recycle their real trees through our Christmas Treecycling service. In return for a donation, we'll collect your real Christmas trees for recycling, to raise vital funds for Sue Ryder.

Over the festive period we continue to support patients at all of our hospices, neurological centres and out in the community, making sure their Christmas can be spent in the way they wish to spend it with their loved ones around them.

You can help people make every moment count this Christmas and beyond.

This green scheme will raise vital funds so Sue Ryder can continue offering its compassionate end-of-life care and bereavement support, helping our specialist teams be there when it matters. In return for your donation, we will collect your real Christmas trees direct from your garden or driveway and recycle them.

With your help we can support even more people. Your gift, no matter how big or small, will help to make a difference.

Sue Ryder volunteers will be kindly supported by Nene Valley Tree Services and Safe Local Trades.

Where we'll be collecting

We'll be out and about from Saturday 7th January until Tuesday 10th January 2023 in these postcodes:

PE1, PE2, PE3, PE4, PE5, PE6 7, PE7, PE8

Tree quantity and size

If you are requiring collection of three or more Christmas trees, we kindly ask you to get in touch with us by calling 01733 225 999 or emailing thorpe.fundraising@sueryder.org

For all areas we have a tree height limit of 10ft and ask that all decorations and pots are removed. If you live in a location that is difficult to reach with a large van or pick up, please provide access details when registering your tree.

Fill the end of someone's life with love

Last year, Sue Ryder provided over 830,000 hours of care to thousands of families across the country, including from our Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice.

With your kind donations, we'll be able to continue providing support for families in the local community through the toughest times of their lives, making sure that their final moments together are full of love.

  • £10.50 could pay for half an hour of expert care and help fill another family’s final days with love.
  • £15.00 could provide breakfast on Christmas Day for three patients being cared for in one of our hospices.
  • £21 could help fund an hour of expert care and help fill another family’s final days with love.
  • £60 could provide one complementary therapy session.
  • £65 could help pay for one bereavement counselling session.
