Rising costs mean we won’t be there for everyone who needs us. But with your support, we can continue to provide essential palliative care and bereavement support to everyone facing the most difficult times of their lives. Together, we can make sure they get the care they need.
Help us respond to this cost of dying crisis.
The cost of caring has risen by nearly 20%
It now costs us nearly 20% more to provide an hour of care, while our government funding has only increased by 3% on average.
This means that the funding we receive soon won’t stretch as far as it’s needed. And, like lots of other charities, we’re seeing our fundraising income drop too.
More people than ever need our help
1 in 4 families aren’t able to access the end-of-life care they need. And we know that over 55% more people are set to need our help by 2030.
But rising costs mean we won’t be able to provide the care that everyone needs.
That’s why we urgently need your support, so we can be there when it matters for more people like Sue and John.
“The patience of all the team was incredible. I still can’t believe these angels are just going around taking care of people.”

How your donation can help
Your donation could help us to recruit more palliative care nurses, who we desperately need as we face a rising demand for our services.
It could also help train more grief counsellors, so that more people struggling to cope after a bereavement can access free, expert support.
Or, it could contribute to our growing hospice bills, so they can continue to be special places for people like Anne and Mike.
“It was all those little things - from the receptionist on the front desk smiling, to the chef asking Mike what he fancied and making special meals for him as he couldn’t eat very well.
“They just went the extra mile. We used to say that the hospice was our special place to go. They made you feel you were loved, that your life mattered, however short it might be.”
- Anne talking about the care her husband, Mike, received in our hospice

Rising costs shouldn’t deprive people of the care they need.
