About Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice
Hospice care is what we call the treatment and support we offer to people with life-limiting conditions.
We combine specialist medical care for managing pain and other symptoms, with other emotional, practical and spiritual support. You might be admitted to receive inpatient care for a short time while your symptoms are assessed and managed.

Our inpatient hospice offers expert care and 24 hour monitoring, to make you as comfortable as possible. Sue Ryder Nurses, as part of our specialist team, help with managing pain and alleviating symptoms. We’re here for practical and emotional support too.
Inpatient care
Our expert team includes doctors, Sue Ryder Nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational and complementary therapists and our Family Support Team. We make a personalised care plan for you, combining your wishes with our experts’ advice to meet your needs.
Day Therapy Services
Our Day Services support people to be cared for at home for as long as possible, and give you access to necessary services and expert care as you need it. We provide practical care such as symptom assessment, medication review and management, and emotional support.
It’s important to avoid getting isolated when you’re living with a life-limiting condition. By providing Day Services we also aim to give carers a break too.
Senior nurses and therapists coordinate the Day Services groups, supported by our expert care teams. We offer occupational therapy, physiotherapy, access to our social worker, advice, Family Support and complementary therapy teams.
Whether you’re coping with a terminal illness or facing the loss of someone close, we’re here to help you through it. At Wheatfields, we will help you to live the best life you can.

I feel that my son, Neil, received the best care possible at Wheatfields; he was in safe hands. Friends and family could visit him at any time day or night and I have no words to describe how well they cared for Neil as well as me.
