Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice

Last year Sue Ryder Nurses and Thorpe Hall Hospice provided 145,000 hours of palliative care and support to patients and their families.

Our care is free, but it costs us £3.4m per year to provide it, which equates to £9,000 per day.

We are so grateful to our tireless supporters, who raise vital funds to enable us to continue providing the expert care for which we’re so well known, locally and nationally.

Not only do our supporters raise a huge amount of money towards our services, they also help to spread the word about Sue Ryder so more people know about what we do and how we can help.

We urgently need more supporters to organise events and take part in fundraising challenges.

Fundraising for Sue Ryder is a great way to meet new people, help to develop your skills and ensure that we can continue to provide care to local families when they need us the most.

How you can support Thorpe Hall

Corporate support

Does your business want to make a difference in the Peterborough region?

We can work together to achieve something incredible. Our fundraising team offers:

  • A dedicated account manager
  • A tailored package of support, ideas, activities and events for your team to be involved in
  • Support with promotional activities

If you, a member of your family or one of your friends works in an organisation in the Peterborough region you could help link us to them.

Mutual support

Tailor-making a ‘Charity of the Year plan’ is vital to us to ensure we are giving businesses the chance to meet their key objectives while they support us; these might be employee engagement, building their community profile or public relations benefits.

And choosing the right charity partner is an important decision for a business.

Our fundraisers are always delighted to introduce businesses to other members of our team, to show them around the hospice and demonstrate the value of corporate support to Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice.

Local businesses making a difference

The team at Thorpe Hall Hospice are delighted to have welcomed Motorpoint Peterborough on to Team Incredible.

Staff at the car supermarket pledged a year of support to the hospice and kicked off their fundraising with a sponsored bike ride. By having staff pedal on a static bike in the showroom, they shared the launch of their charity support with customers and visitors, boosting the total in their fundraising bucket.

In turn, we’ve been able to share news of their partnership on our social media channels and to our other supporters and partners. And there’s plenty more joint working to come.

Memory Tree

Our Memory Tree is a beautiful, handcrafted art feature capturing your memories within its branches.

Every copper, silver and gold leaf on the tree is engraved with the name of someone special. Anchoring the tree is a foundation of copper, silver and gold bricks, also personalised, creating a unique piece of art.

The Memory Tree sits against one of Thorpe Hall’s historic stone walls where it can be enjoyed by patients, staff, volunteers and visitors.

By dedicating a leaf or brick on our Memory Tree you will be creating a lasting way to remember someone special while supporting Thorpe Hall’s care into the future.

How does the Memory Tree work?

  • You choose whether to have the name of your special person engraved on a leaf or a brick. You can pick the colour too - copper, silver or gold.
  • Within 10 days of receiving your order we will invite you to visit Thorpe Hall Hospice and place the ornament on our Memory Tree - or we will place it on there for you.
  • You are welcome to visit as often as you like to see your ornament on our Memory Tree.

Make a donation

£21 could pay for one hour of our expert care, helping people live the best life they possibly can, while £60 could provide one session of bereavement counselling for someone struggling to cope with the loss of a loved one. We’re always grateful for every donation, however big or small.
