Telephone fundraising

Occasionally, we contact our supporters by telephone. Read on to find out how and why we use telephone fundraising.

Who will contact me?

We use a carefully selected telephone fundraising agency called QTS Fundraising to carry out our telephone fundraising.

QTS is a UK-based agency that specialises in charity fundraising, and they are passionate about raising money to help support people at the end of their life or living with grief.

If you are contacted by QTS on behalf of Sue Ryder, the phone number they will use is 07458 122 809.

When you miss a call from QTS, if you ring this number back you will hear an automated message telling you who called.

Why am I being called?

Telephone fundraising enables us to raise money to help ensure that everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can access the support they need.

These calls are also a means for us to tell our supporters more about our work and the people that they are helping.

We don’t use telemarketing to make cold calls.

If we receive a complaint from a supporter about us contacting them by telephone, we will make sure that they are not called again.

At what times could I be called?

QTS will only call you between 10am - 8.30pm Monday to Friday and 10am - 5.30pm on Saturdays.

They will never call you on Sundays, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day, Good Friday or Easter Monday.

How many times will I be called?

If a fundraiser calls you but doesn’t get through, they will make four subsequent attempts to call you. They will spread these calls out unless they have been asked to call to call back at a specific time.

What should I do if I don’t want to be called?

If you would prefer not be contacted by telephone, please call our Supporter Care team on 0808 164 4572 or email supportercare@sueryder.org to update your preferences.

Alternatively, if you do receive a call from the number above, you can let the fundraiser know that you don’t want to hear from Sue Ryder by telephone again in the future.

QTS will respect your wishes and will stop calling you.

How do you keep my details safe?

Sue Ryder and our telephone fundraising agency are committed to protecting your data. We transfer your data securely and QTS will only store your data until the campaign that you have been called as part of has ended.

Do you record calls?

Every call made by QTS is recorded. This enables us to monitor the calls they make on our behalf and listen to any concerns our supporters might raise.

QTS only store call recordings for one year.
