Our impact in 2025-26
Sue Ryder is alongside people through terminal illness, death and grief. We provide expert palliative and end-of-life care and grief support, offering hope, dignity and kindness. Here, you can find out more about the difference our vital care and services have made over the past year.
Our specialist doctors, nurses, caregivers, counsellors and volunteers work tirelessly, so that no one has to face dying or grief without the care and support they need.
On this page we’ve gathered some key numbers which help demonstrate the impact we’re having in the areas of end-of-life care and grief support, as well as some real stories from the people we've helped.
Palliative and end-of-life care
- We delivered more than 657,000 hours of palliative and end-of-life care.
- Around 600 Sue Ryder Nurses, doctors and healthcare professionals provided expert care to people approaching the end of their lives.
- Our palliative and end-of-life care teams supported patients and their families during 132,000 telephone calls.
- Over 589,000 face-to-face visits were made by our Hospice at Home and Community teams, giving essential care to patients.
The Sue Ryder Nurses were actually there the day Mum passed away, and it was very reassuring to have someone there who knew what to do and could step in or help if needed.

- We delivered 5,635 Online Bereavement Counselling sessions.

I found the sessions really helpful…you can be completely vulnerable with somebody you have no relationship with.
