The Jewel in the Weald
Tenterden is a picturesque town in the heart of Kent, often referred to as ‘The Jewel in the Weald’ and one of the Cinque Ports. A beautiful tree lined high street with numerous Georgian buildings hosts a weekly market on Fridays.
The Sue Ryder shop is centrally located in the High Street, convenient for buses and parking, attracting many visitors like day-trippers and holidaymakers. Kent and East Sussex Heritage Steam Railway is a very popular attraction to the town.
The shop opened in 2005 and is actively involved in a variety of community events. Some examples are The May Fare, Tentertainment, Folk Festival and the annual Christmas shopping event. There is also an award winning vineyard at Chapel Down with restaurant.
