Welcome to Penzance: famous for pirates
Penzance is a historic Cornish port on the south facing shores of Mount's Bay. Famous for its pirates and the mildest climates in the UK, Penzance has lots to offer.
Visit the magical located St Michael's Mount, wander around Morrab Gardens, which are full of many subtropical plants species, have a walk on the promenade and enjoy the spectacular views over the bay, or have a stroll along Chapel Street and visit the characteristic pubs, antique shops and galleries.
Penzance is also the main departure point for traveling to the Isles of Scilly and is well known as a great family holiday destination with fantastic beaches stretching eastward from the town to Morazion and St Michael's Mount.
For a small Cornish market town, Penzance has a good selection of shops and stores. The main shopping area is located around the Causeway Head and the well-known Market Jew Street, where you will find our Sue Ryder shop, next door to the post office and opposite to the Sir Humphrey Davy statue, just a five-minute walk from the main bus and train station
