Join Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, Gloucestershire’s only inpatient hospice, for our inaugural interactive sport quiz ‘Question of Sport’kindly sponsored by plumbing, heating and electrical specialists, SW&L.

A runner's feet and hands, ready at the starting line
A wet tennis ball swirling through the air
A football on the pitch in a stadium
Following the latest advice from the Government about limiting social contact, Sue Ryder has made the difficult decision to cancel or postpone all fundraising events with immediate effect. Subsequently, we are sad to announce that this year's Question of Sport has been postponed.

Please know how grateful we are to you for providing such amazing support to Sue Ryder. We rely on your valuable contributions and are as disappointed as you will be that so many fundraising activities cannot go ahead, at least for now.

We will be in touch with updates for the event as soon as we can. Thank you so much for your support. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice Fundraising Team on 01242 246 285 or by emailing leckhampton.fundraising@sueryder.org

About the event

The event is set to be a fabulous evening of corporate entertainment and friendly competition, held in the Iconic 1873 Lounge at Gloucester Rugby Club, helping to raise crucial funds for our specialist palliative care.

We will also be joined by and hear from arguably the most iconic English sportsman of all time - Sir Geoff Hurst MBE.

Sir Geoff is the only footballer to score a hat-trick in a football World Cup final, not to mention going on to win the World Cup in 1966.

What to expect

You will compete in an interactive ‘Question of Sport’ quiz shown on large screens using wireless keypad technology. The quiz features a wide range of question styles that can be enjoyed by everyone, not just sport experts, including the old favourites ‘Mystery Guest’ and ‘What Happened Next?’

As well as the quiz, there will be a charity raffle, auction and other games to ensure that you and your guests have a lot of fun - no matter how you perform in the Quiz!

Rally a team friends or colleagues, invite your clients or suppliers and join us for a fun evening to include:

  • A three course dinner with wine on your table
  • Three interactive quiz rounds - the winning team will be present the trophy by Sir Geoff Hurst MBE
  • Q&A with Sir Geoff Hurst MBE
  • A charity auction and raffle
  • A cash bar throughout the evening

Team/table prices for the evening are:

  • Teams of 5: £400.00
  • Teams of 10: £750.00
  • Premier Team of 10: £950 (limited tables)

Please note: A premier table will include a sparkling reception in the Gloucester Rugby home changing room, as well as the opportunity to meet Sir Geoff Hurst and members of the Gloucester Rugby squad for a team photo.

Your table in the 1873 lounge will be close to the stage and include a bottle of champagne. Limited availability.
