Terms and conditions
Terms and Conditions and Disclaimer
Registration - Every participant must fill in their own registration form unless:
- The person completing the form is doing so as the parent or guardian of a participant aged under 18 in which case the parent or guardian must inform the participant that they have signed the terms and conditions on their behalf and that their participation in the event will be governed by these terms.
- The person completing the form has or reasonably believes that they have the participant’s consent to their doing so on the participant’s behalf. The person completing the form must make the participant aware of these terms and conditions in good time before the event. In the event that the participant does not agree to be bound by these terms and conditions they should withdraw from the event. Participation in the event shall be deemed to be acceptance of these terms and conditions by the participant.
Refunds - The entry fee for the Manorlands PaintRush is non-transferable and non-refundable. Due to unexpected health and safety reasons on the day, the Manorlands Paint Rush may have to be reduced or altered to accommodate unexpected complications (for example, flooding).
The event start - The organisers retain the right to make a change to the advertised start time and to stagger the start if necessary.
Terrain and obstacles – The terrain for this event is 95% grass and 5% rough track, which can both be slippery, especially in wet conditions, and participants should therefore wear appropriate footwear. The course will be mainly flat with the exception of a 20m-long incline and a 20m-long descent. Within certain colour stations basic obstacles will be placed in order to slow down participants; this will make them easier to hit with the throwing powder. Participants should be aware that these obstacles are in place and follow marshals' instructions to enter these areas. In one area, people dressed as Mascots will be on the course with sponge paint dabber gloves on, dabbling people with the sponge hands as they run past them, and they have limited vision so may not be accurate. Sue Ryder is aware that some people may not want to take part in this part of the activity and so anyone who wishes not to be touched should run down the ’untouchable’ lane.
Publicity - By participating, participants agree to take part in post-walk publicity, which may include interviews, photography and/or filming for Sue Ryder internal communications, local and/or national media.
Contact details - Participants are personally responsible for updating the organisers with any new address and telephone details. All participants must provide emergency contact details. In the case of an emergency, the organisers may use the Emergency Contact details provided by you to contact your home or office.
Health and fitness -The event has been designed as a low-risk event for the averagely fit person. All participants should satisfy themselves that they are in good health and physically able to participate in the Manorlands PaintRush. If in doubt, participants should consult a GP or hospital doctor prior to the event. During the entry process, we ask if the participant has any health issues that we should know about. By providing this information, you are consenting to us passing it to the first aiders employed at the Manorlands PaintRush where we deem it reasonably necessary to do. This information will only be used to assist in safeguarding the welfare of participants.
As part of the event, coloured ‘throwing powder’ will be sprayed and thrown at participants as they pass through seven colour stations. The powder will be made from dyed cornstarch.
- The product as supplied is classified as non-hazardous.
- The Coloured Event Throwing Powder conforms to EU1223/2009 Cosmetic Regulations.
- Temporary irritation may be caused with eye contact.
- Minor skin irritation may be caused to sensitive skin by prolonged or repeated contact.
Therefore, please seek guidance from your GP if you have sensitive skin. We will also be selling non-UV protective shades on the day to help keep the powder from participant’s eyes. Participants are encouraged to wear eye protection, which will be available for purchase on the day.
