Sue Ryder Lights of Love Thames Valley invites you to remember and reflect upon special memories of loved ones in the company of others within your community who are also living with loss.

Remember and reflect upon the lives of loved ones

We understand when someone dies it can raise a range of emotions and we hope Lights of Love will give you a small measure of comfort and reassurance that you are not alone. It is an opportunity to give thanks, leave a dedication in memory and collectively celebrate the lives of people who have died that have meant so much to us.

The Lights of Love service

The service features a welcome from the Sue Ryder Thames Valley Family Support team, and includes performances from the choir Vivace Voices and Anita D’Attellis, along with readings and poems.

Our Lights of Love dedication tree will also be available to view, and we invite attendees to stay after the service for tea, coffee and mince pies.

The venue is located down the road from the Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice and has disabled access and parking. Secondary parking is available at Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice.

Caring for families across the country

Last year Sue Ryder provided over 830,000 hours of care to thousands of families across the country, including from our Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice and Sue Ryder Palliative Care Hub South Oxfordshire.

At Sue Ryder, we offer a range of free bereavement services that can help you live with loss. Lights of Love is open to anyone who wishes to commemorate a loved one, regardless of when they died and if they were a former patient of Sue Ryder.

We recognise this time of year can be more difficult, so we hope you will join our Winter Lights of Love this December to pay tribute to your loved one who is no longer with us.

Christmas Eve candle lighting

Join us on Facebook alongside hundreds of other people this Christmas Eve from the comfort of your home, to light a candle in memory of loved ones in a moment of reflection.
