About the December Daily Dash

Whether you run, walk or jog, this is a challenge for everyone. Starting on 1 December and finishing on 31 December, you are challenged to run 5K every single day - sun, wind or snow!

It doesn't matter how you take it on - choose to do it with friends, with family or on your own. Do it for yourself, do it to support a loved one, or do it to raise vital funds for Sue Ryder's expert and compassionate support.

Now entering our sixth year, we’ve made it even easier to take part. The Daily Dash hub is the one place you need to go to register, find out more about the event, view the leaderboard and get training or fundraising information.

History of the December Daily Dash

The event was started in 2015 by long-term Sue Ryder supporters, Jackie, Mark and some friends, after Jackie's Dad received amazing care from Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice in the final months of his life.

From 13 fabulous fundraisers in the first year to over 550 last year, the December Daily Dash is growing every year and has already raised over £100,000 for Sue Ryder's palliative, neurological and bereavement support.

Jackie and Mark's story

“After losing my parents so close together, I really wanted to try and find something positive out of an incredibly sad situation. My husband is a massive runner and I run to keep fit. Someone had mentioned the idea of running every day and we thought why don’t we give it a go and try to raise money for Sue Ryder?
