This month, we are opening three new purpose-built ground floor bedrooms, each with ensuite wet room, at The Chantry to meet the needs of people requiring specialist neurological rehabilitation in the East of England.
Our Sue Ryder neurological care centre in Ipswich, The Chantry, is pleased to announce the expansion of its specialist neurological rehabilitation service.
This service is largely aimed at people who have suffered an acquired brain injury and their carers. Patients are eligible if, upon being discharged from hospital, they require an intensive programme of therapy to regain their physical function, social skills and confidence before returning home.
What rehabilitation and therapy is available?
Intensive short-stay placements of up to 12 weeks, or slower-stream placements of up to six months, are available for people who will benefit from a rehabilitation programme across three or more therapy disciplines, such as:
- occupational therapy
- speech and language therapy
- clinical psychology
- re-training of any other appropriate self-management skills.
How do I access this service?
If you or someone you know is a candidate for this service, please speak with your hospital consultant or level 1 regional rehabilitation team who can arrange a referral to The Chantry.
