Heidi Travis, CEO of Sue Ryder said:

“In order to safeguard our customers, staff and volunteers from the Coronavirus, Sue Ryder has taken the decision to close its shops until further notice.

“Our furniture collection services have also been suspended and we would kindly ask our supporters not to leave donations outside our shops over the coming weeks.

“We would like to thank each and every one of our customers for their support and understanding as well as our retail staff and volunteers who have pulled together over the last few weeks in what has been very challenging circumstances.

“As a charity providing over 2 million hours of palliative, neurological and bereavement support to thousands of people across the UK each year, we rely heavily on the income from our shops. We are looking forward to re-opening them as soon as it is safe to do so.”
