Eddie Redmayne and Kate Moss lead celebrity donations for our first ever Sue Ryder pop-up shop
Famous faces, including Eddie Redmayne, Kate Moss, Susie Cave, Gillian Anderson, Jean Shrimpton, Sam Smith, Daniel Radcliffe and Iskra Lawrence, have donated personal items to a new Sue Ryder pop-up shop that will be open in Mayfair for one day only.
The shop, which will be open for just one day on Friday 19th October (10am to 4.30pm) at Bonhams in New Bond Street, will be selling a range of fabulous vintage clothing, accessories and curios. The celebrity-donated items will be auctioned online with many displayed in store on Friday.
The temporary shop, set in one of London’s grandest auction houses, will have a decidedly vintage feel, selling items from across different eras in fashion.
“Our pop-up shop will be stocking some amazing vintage garments and accessories donated by a host of celebrities and iconic names from the worlds of fashion and entertainment," said Holly Spiers, Sue Ryder Director of Hospices & Fundraising.
"We hope that the shop will really put Sue Ryder on the map when it comes to charity retail, while also raising vital funds so we can provide more palliative, neurological and bereavement care.”
Signed copy of 'Kate' by Kate Moss
Model and fashion icon Kate Moss has donated a signed copy of her coffee-table tome Kate by Kate Moss to the shop.
“I regularly donate to my local Sue Ryder shop in North London," she said, "so I’m delighted to be supporting the charity’s first pop-up shop.”

Signed copy of Eddie Redmayne's 'The Theory of Everything' script
Oscar-winning Actor Eddie Redmayne has donated a signed copy of his original script from The Theory of Everything, the biopic of Professor Stephen Hawking, who lived with motor neurone disease (MND) for most of his adult life.
“It seemed a fitting tribute to the memory of Stephen, to donate my signed script from The Theory of Everything to Sue Ryder," explained Eddie, who was awarded the Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Professor Hawking.
"The charity provides vital support to people living with MND, and I'm delighted that funds raised from my donation will help to support people living with this and other life-changing conditions.”
Jean Shrimpton's velvet jacket
Jean Shrimpton, model and icon of 'Swinging London' has donated a luxurious Georgina Von Etzdorf velvet jacket to the auction.
“I'm delighted to donate to the auction and to a charity that provides such compassionate care to people at the end of their life," she said. "I hope the event is a huge success for Sue Ryder and raises vital funds.”
Gillian Anderson's designer shoes
Actress Gillian Anderson, star of cult shows such as The X-Files and The Fall, has donated a pair of Charles David sandals to the auction.
Gillian explained: “I’m delighted to be contributing to the Sue Ryder shop and to be helping a cause that does so much for people living with life-changing conditions.”

Model, rock-star wife and fashion designer Susie Cave has donated one of her stunning Vampire’s Wife Juno dresses, in pink and metallic, to the auction.
A host of British designers have also donated items to the shop including milliner Philip Treacy, Stephen Jones, Henry Holland and hot label of the moment, Rixo.
Bonhams kindly offered to host the pop-up shop, which will also include items donated by Daniel Radcliffe (a signed copy of Little Shop of Horrors), Ronan Keating, Karren Brady and Sam Smith (a signed limited-edition Sam Smith vinyl), alongside many other items.

Visitors to the shop, which is open to customers from 10am to 4.30pm, will be able to buy many unusual and unique items.
Celebrity-donated items will be placed into a silent auction, giving those that can’t travel to the shop in London the opportunity to get involved and bid online.
All silent auction items will be available to view in the shop on Friday 19th October. The auction items will go live and bids will open from Monday 15th October, closing at 23:59 on Monday 22nd October.
