A range of opportunities

Volunteering for Sue Ryder can also be a brilliant way to enhance your skills and CV, whether you’re looking to get back into work or interested in starting a new career path in Healthcare or Retail. Whatever your skills and experience, there are a wide range of opportunities available to you, from job roles to learning and development sessions.

In 2022/23, over 100 volunteers moved into paid positions across Sue Ryder, and volunteers collectively completed over 3,500 training courses.

Previously, we shone a spotlight on the resources available to support your career development and showcased some brand-new initiatives designed to help make your journey at Sue Ryder as rewarding as possible.

Did you know…?

  • As a Sue Ryder volunteer, you have access to a range of free career development resources via our Online Volunteer Hub? From useful support on how to write a CV to courses focusing on interview skills and advice, you will find lots of helpful links via our Learn new skills and find support page.
  • All volunteers at Sue Ryder can also access a 50% discount at any of our shops when purchasing clothes for a job interview. To receive the discount, simply speak to the colleague at the till, let them know that you are a volunteer purchasing clothes for an interview and tell them your name and where you volunteer.
  • To look for job opportunities at Sue Ryder, you can visit our Jobs portal. In our Volunteer Newsletter, we also shine a spotlight on a few job opportunities each month that might be of interest to our volunteers.
