Watch Zip the Cow!

Jump from the iconic “cow”

For Zip the Cow 2026, sponsored by Buntons Plant Hire and Crag and Co. Accountants, participants can choose from zipping in the daylight, at sunset, at twilight or moooo-n light!

The event sees participants walk (or ride) to the top of the iconic ‘Cow’ at the Cow and Calf Rocks above Ilkley and then jump from it, sliding 270m at speeds of up to 35 miles per hour.

Daytime participants will take in spectacular views of Wharfedale....if they dare open their eyes!

For the later slots, we will light the Cow and Calf Rocks to make it a spectacular experience.

Entry

Entry costs £30.00 per person and each person must also pledge to raise at least £50 towards the care that Sue Ryder provides.

If you want to gift a place in Zip the Cow with no expectation to raise funds, you can select the more expensive options and let us know your preferred slot in the 'other info' box.

This event is an ideal activity for those who want to do something special to celebrate a big birthday and to benefit a great charity too. The vital funds you raise help us continue to provide our expert end-of-life-care and grief support.

Unlike a run or cycle ride, it requires zero training (though a degree of bravery is required). In previous events, we've had participants ranging in age from 8 to 80, some of whom had disabilities, so it really is an event for all.
