About Run Bolton Abbey
Run Bolton Abbey is a popular trail running event where hundreds of runners take part in various distances in the stunning scenery of Bolton Abbey Estate, raising much-needed funds for our expert palliative care and bereavement support.
There is a choice of distances to suit all abilities of runners. A 10km, 10 mile, a half marathon and a 2.3 mile fun run. This is a unique opportunity to run on parts of the estate not usually accessible to the public and we guarantee the autumnal colours will be stunning!
This year, rather than presenting a medal to all finishers, we will be planting a tree in the Bolton Abbey Estate for every participant who crosses the finish line.
Support Sue Ryder
There is no minimum fundraising target for this event. However, we ask participants to raise as much money as they can in support of Sue Ryder’s work.
The routes
There is a choice of distances to suit all abilities of runners. A 10km, 10 mile, a half marathon and a 2.3 mile fun run.

Route maps
The races will start in waves just after 9am, and at the start/finish area we will observe a one minute silence for Remembrance Day at 11am.
