Course description

This introductory course will give you an understanding of what spiritual care is and it will also provide you with basic skills and practical guidance for offering spiritual care to those in need.

You’ll learn about the signs of spiritual wellbeing, including a sense of belonging and social connection, as well as clues patients may be struggling.

Attending to the spiritual needs of individuals enhances the overall quality of care. It creates a safe environment in which someone can explore their own sense of what’s happening to them, and can be open and honest with themselves about their hopes and fears around life and death.
