Course description

This course will deepen your understanding of compassion as a vital tool for individuals in building connections with clients, patients and their families, going through difficult times.

It also addresses the issue of compassion fatigue, often referred to as 'the cost of caring,' which can lead to exhaustion from working in high-pressure caregiving environments.

You will explore the causes of compassion fatigue, its impact on services and their work, and learn how to recognise and address it.

Understanding the signs and symptoms, as well as strategies for alleviating and restoring compassion, is an essential toolkit, as compassion fatigue has significant consequences for individuals, their loved ones and organisations.
