Estimates suggest that up to 90% of all people dying in England need palliative care each year*.
Yet almost 1 in 3 people in the UK are dying without the care and support they need at the end of life**.
Tracey's story
“It felt like they were family. As soon as they walked through the door, it was very natural. We never felt pushed out. We were all on one team.”
Tracey’s dad, David, was cared for by Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice’s Hospice at Home team during the final two weeks of his life. David had always expressed his wish to die at home, and thanks to the expert and compassionate care provided by the team, this was honoured.
“It was about two weeks that the angels (as Dad called them) from Sue Ryder helped us to look after him before he died.”
It meant absolutely everything to us that the staff at Sue Ryder could help us fulfil Dad’s wish to die at home. We knew it meant the world to him too.

“It sounds like a strange thing to say, but he had a perfect death, and we couldn’t have done it without Sue Ryder - they were our family lifeline.”
