A walk under the stars

Starlight Hike Worth Valley, featuring the Starlight Express Train, returns on Saturday 3rd October 2026.

Starlight Hike highlights

Join us on a night‑time walk where hundreds of people come together to remember and celebrate loved ones, and raise vital funds for Sue Ryder.

Your evening begins aboard the magical Starlight Express train, kindly supported once again by Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, a truly unforgettable way to start a night of reflection, celebration and community.

Bright outfits, fancy dress and glow sticks are all encouraged. You’ll enjoy uplifting entertainment and stunning illuminated displays as you walk alongside hundreds of others, celebrating the lives of those we love and miss.

Passing through the peaceful grounds of Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice, you’ll have the chance to place a star in memory of those special to you.

On the night

  • 6.00pm - Registration opens for 10k walk
  • 6.30pm - Registration opens for 5k walk
  • 7.00pm - First train for 10k walk departs
  • 7.30pm - Second train for 10k walk departs
  • 8.00pm - Train for 5k walk departs
  • 11.00pm – Event ends.
