Event cancelled

We are really sorry to share that after months of busy planning and promotion, we have been forced to cancel Sue Ryder Starlight Hike Peterborough on Saturday 4th October 2025.

With dangerously high wind gusts forecast as a result of Storm Amy, the decision was made in close consultation with our venue partner, Nene Park, with the safety of participants, volunteers, and staff as our highest priority.

All registered participants for Starlight Hike Peterborough will be contacted, and their registration fee will be refunded.

If you have further questions, please contact thorpe.fundraising@sueryder.org

A walk under the stars

Starlight Hike highlights

Get together with family and friends and walk 5k or 10k under the stars to remember someone special and help raise vital funds.

The route will meander through the country park, which will be beautifully lit as you enjoy your night-time walk under the stars. You have the option of completing a 5k loop of the park or going round again to complete a 10k walk. On the route, you’ll pass a special dedication area where you can take a moment to remember a loved one.

With warm up entertainment and live music on the route, you'll be joining together with hundreds of others to celebrate the lives of those we love and miss.

Together we can ensure no one has to face death or grief alone

Last year over 9,400 people across the country were cared for by Sue Ryder’s hospice teams, including from our Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice or in their own homes in the community.

It costs £16,000 a day to deliver our end-of-life care in your local area. Our dedicated teams include doctors, nurses, care assistants and occupational therapists, providing support, and ensuring pain and symptoms are managed so that final days can be filled with family and friends.
