Lead Volunteers, Beeston

We are looking for Lead Volunteers to support the shop team in Beeston.

1.  Main Purpose of Role

To support the shop management team by taking on a higher level of responsibility. This will include covering the shop in the absence of any paid staff who may be attending meetings, unwell or on annual leave.

2.  Role Overview

As Lead Volunteer you will receive an enhanced level of training enabling you to take on additional levels of responsibility.  This training will be both face to face and on eLearning. You will be required to take on the responsibility of the day to day running of the shop in the absence of the management team.

 3. Commitment

Regular 7.5 hour (day) shifts when manager is absent alongside regular team shifts of 4 hours or more to retain your working knowledge

4.  Skills

You need to be the type of person who is:

  • confident to take on additional responsibility on an adhoc basis.
  • someone who naturally likes to take the lead and happy to make decisions.
  • part of the team and open to direction and follows process.
  • a good communicator who can work with teams of mixed abilities.
  • excellent customer services are essential
  • take direction
  • willingness to attend training sessions,  keep up to date and compliant with our ways of working.

The work is varied and interesting. The Lead Volunteer Programme is ideal for someone who already volunteers with us and is looking to take on additional responsibilities; you may have previous retail experience or be someone who is looking to develop their skills in order to find paid work; possibly with us… Interested in applying

If you’d like to find out more, pop into the shop or get in touch to arrange a taster session where you can try out the role and meet the team or apply online now.

5.  Experience

Previous retail experience would be great but it’s not essential as we’ll give you all the training you need.  You need to be a friendly, helpful person who enjoys responsibility but can follow process and make decisions.

6.  Benefits

Fun, friendship and to be part of a team
