The Keighley 10K & 5K is now unable to take place in it’s normal format due to Corona Virus restrictions. In its place we invite you to support Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice by taking part in the Virtual Keighley 10K or 5K.
Participants can run, or walk a 10K or 5K route of their choice over August Bank Holiday weekend. All those who take part will receive the Keighley 10K & 5K 2020 medal and their time (if they wish) will be recorded on the event leader board.

Frequently asked questions
I’ve already entered the Keighley 10K/5K what do I need to do? – You should have already received an e-mail you with your options. If you haven’t received it, please contact email@example.com
Do I have to fundraise? – If you can that is great but there is no obligation to raise additional funds.
Do I have to be fit? – If you have any doubt seek medical advice. You can run or walk the distance, if you do feel uncomfortable please stop. Don’t take any risks.
Do I have to prove I’ve completed the event? – Just tell us you’ve done it, we’ll believe you. :)
Is there an age limit? – No but children under 11 should be supervised by an adult in a public area.
Do I have to run/walk on the road? – You can do the distance wherever you want, running machine, back garden, park, canal towpath, anywhere so long as you follow social distancing guidelines.
Can I do the distance on a bike/roller skates? – No, with the exception of a wheelchair this is a foot race/walk. Medial wheelchairs are allowed, mobility scooters are not.
What if I have bought a Virtual Event ticket but can't now attend this year's event? Refunds will not be offered for the Virtual Event, but if you are unable to take part and let us know before the event date, then we can transfer your entry to the 2021 event.
Is this going to be an annual event? We hope to welcome all back to the usual event on Mother’s Day.
Terms and conditions
Virtual Keighley 10K & 5K Terms and Conditions
Registration - Every participant must fill in their own registration form unless:
- The person completing the form is doing so as the parent or guardian of a participant aged under 18 in which case the parent or guardian must inform the participant that they have signed the terms and conditions on their behalf and that their participation in the event will be governed by these terms.
- The person completing the form is doing so as the leader of a corporate team. It is the duty of the corporate team leader to notify the other team members of these terms and conditions and that the leader has signed them on behalf of the own team. The team leader must further ensure that all team members agree and accept that their participation in the event is governed by these terms and conditions. Any team member who does not so accept these terms should be withdrawn from the event.
- The person completing the form has or reasonably believes that they have the participant’s consent to their doing so on the participant’s behalf. The person completing the form must make the participant aware of these terms and conditions in good time before the event. In the event that the participant does not agree to be bound by these terms and conditions they should withdraw from the event. Participation in the event shall be deemed to be acceptance of these terms and conditions by the participant.
Time – Participants are asked to complete their 10k or 5k run over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Refunds - The entry fee for the Virtual Keighley 10K & 5K is non-refundable.
Publicity - By participating, participants agree to take part in post-event publicity which may include interviews, photography and/or filming for Sue Ryder internal communications, local and/or national media.
Contact details - Participants are personally responsible for updating the organisers with any new address and telephone details.
Health and Fitness - All participants should satisfy themselves that they are in good health and physically able to participate in the Virtual Keighley 10K & 5K.
Safety - The event is unsupervised and takes place on public paths and roads. All participants are responsible for taking steps to ensure their own safety whilst taking part and for obeying any relevant traffic laws or bylaws. Please take care to look out for and show consideration to other road or path users.
Liability - All participants take part at their own risk. Neither Sue Ryder nor its sponsors accept responsibility for any loss, injury or damage suffered by any participant personally or to their property as a result of taking part in the Virtual Keighley 10K & 5K Challenge (apart from personal injury caused by Sue Ryder’s negligence). Your signature on the entry form or your clicking on the box in the on line entry conforms your acceptance of these conditions of entry.
Age - Anyone under 18yrs old must have their entry form signed by a parent/guardian and must abide the rules. It is each under 18 yr old's parents/guardians responsibility to ensure they or their children are suitability fit and healthy to take part in the event. We recommend that any children taking part are accompanied along the route by an adult at all times.
Sponsorship - The Virtual Keighley 10K & 5K is an exclusive Sue Ryder fundraising event. Sponsorship monies raised may not be given to or shared with any other organisation. Participants are advised that they have a legal responsibility to ensure that all sponsorship monies and donations received for the Virtual Keighley 10K & 5K are paid to Sue Ryder within a reasonable time.
Data Protection - Please be aware that by registering you authorise Sue Ryder to process your personal and sensitive data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 for the purposes of administering this event.
