The 2020 London Marathon, due to be held on 4th October, has been cancelled. To defer your charity place in the physical event to 2021, 2022 or 2023, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can still earn that long-awaited 40th Race Medal and finisher T-Shirt by taking on the virtual challenge on 4th October.
You'll have 24 hours to run the 26.2 mile distance on a route of your choosing, and celebrate the spirit of this iconic marathon major from your own front door.
With the London Marathon and so many other events cancelled, and no clear indication of how long it will take for our shops to return to normal trading, Sue Ryder anticipates a funding gap of up to £2m per month for the rest of this year.
We're encouraging everyone who takes on the virtual London Marathon to set themselves a fundraising target of £145, to raise enough to fund a Sue Ryder nurse for a day.
See what last year's team had to say...
Ryan ran the marathon in 2019 for his Mum
"I’ve thrown myself into marathons, held fundraising events and had a total change in career in my attempts to cope with my Mum’s death, but talking has never been one for me..."
