The Walk to Remember returns for another year and is an opportunity for you to join family and friends to celebrate the life of those who are gone but not forgotten, as well as raising important funds in support of Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice.
Given the latest advice from the government about limiting social contact, Sue Ryer has made the difficult decision to cancel or postpone all fundraising events with immediate effect. Subsequently, we are sad to announce that this year's Walk to Remember has been postponed.
Please know how grateful we are to you for providing such amazing support to Sue Ryder. We rely on your valuable contributions and are as disappointed as you will be that so many fundraising activities cannot go ahead, at least for now.
We will be in touch about the new date for Walk to Remember as soon as we can. Thank you so much for your support. If you have any questions, please contact the team on 01733 225940.
On the day
Starting at The Boating Lake, the route will take in the river and stunning woodland before heading back to the green for a wonderful celebration.
Registration is from 10am, with a warm up at 10.30am. The walk itself will begin at at 11am.
By taking part in this 6.5K walk, you can help raise funds so Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice can continue to provide the expert palliative and end of life care to those who need it in our local community.
Refreshments will be available both before and after the walk at The Boating Lake Green.
Wheelchairs and prams are welcome, but please be aware that the path may be uneven with possible inclines. Dogs are also welcome on the walk.
Walk in memory of loved ones
This year we are providing t-shirts for participants, so they can write who they are dedicating their walk to and let everyone know who they are remembering.
T-shirts are available for the walk, and we are offering a pick up for this at the hospice from 12-6pm on Wednesday 6th and Wednesday 13th of May at Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice. The t-shirts will also be available for collection on the day of the walk. They can be decorated ready for the walk to show us who you are walking for and just what they mean to you!
Raise just £140 of sponsorship
We would love to encourage you to raise a wonderful amount of sponsorship to help support us and enable us to be there when it matters. Raising just £140 could fund a Sue Ryder hospice nurse for an entire day.
