Walkers during the Thorpe Hall Forget-Me-Not Memory Walk

The Forget-Me-Not Walk is for anyone who has lost a loved one and wants to celebrate and remember them.

Organised by a group of volunteers, this is a 3.5-mile family-friendly walk that allows people to remember a loved one in a safe environment with others who have been through the same, and to reconnect with the local community.

The event will have a reflective but positive tone, encouraging families and friends to remember loved ones and celebrate the lives of others.

About the day

We will open registration at 9.30am to have time for a warm-up before we kick off the walk at 10.30am!

The walk will begin at Barnwell Country Park and travel through the historic market town, before continuing on a wooded journey through local scenery along the river and then heading back to Barnwell.

After the walk will be a time for celebration, and a chance to reflect and remember. There will be a barbecue available or you can bring your own picnics – there will be music, stalls and a chance to collect your certificate.

Could you go the extra mile?

We appreciate you coming along to our Sue Ryder Forget- Me-Not Walk, but can you go that extra mile and ask your family and friends to sponsor you?

We want to be able to provide more care to more people, and give them more choice about how and where they are cared for. All this takes medical expertise, compassion and understanding, which of course all costs money.

Did you know £60 could pay for one session of bereavement counselling for someone struggling to cope with the loss of a loved one?

Get together, grab your walking boots and see how much you can raise!
