All of us at Sue Ryder Nettlebed Hospice would like to say a huge thank you for your amazing generosity in support of our Christmas appeal, run by the Henley Standard during December. You helped us to raise more than £21,000, which is truly remarkable. This helped cover the cost of running our hospice over the Christmas weekend. Thank you so much!
Your support makes a real difference
Many of you will have read about Tony, who allowed us to share his story to help support our Christmas appeal. Sadly, Tony died on New Year's Eve.
We are so indebted to him for his honesty, bravery and compassion in telling his story and highlighting to people the work we do for those at the end of their life. Allowing us to tell his story was a great gift to the hospice, and his passion in wanting to raise funds for us was amazing. We were able to tell Tony how successful the appeal had been before he died - he was completely thrilled and extremely grateful to everyone for their generosity.
Tony was a lovely, funny man who was a pleasure to have known. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.
