You don’t need construction experience. You don’t even need a spade. But you can help Sue Ryder build a brighter future for people living with complex neurological conditions in the North-East, brick by brick.
Brick by Brick 100
Sue Ryder is on the search for 100 ‘builders’ to support our Dee View Appeal to create a further 20 bedrooms at our Aberdeen-based neurological care centre, Dee View Court.
Could you, your organisation or company, donate or pledge to raise £1,000 and buy a brick for our Dee View Court extension?
Many bricks make a home, and your support will enable us to build new, specially adapted bedrooms for people who desperately need our care.
We need you!
Businesses, schools, friends, individuals, organisations: our builders come in all shapes and sizes. No hard hats or building skills are required. All you need is the passion to support the people in our community who really need it.
Please help us make our ambitions for a bigger Dee View Court a reality and be one of the 100 individuals, teams or companies raising £1,000 to buy a brick.

Our Dee View Appeal Building Team
We have been fortunate to have the fantastic support of many ‘builders’ for our Dee View Appeal, all of whom have undertaken a variety of fundraising activities to buy a brick (or more), and helped us reach £2.4m of our £3.9m target. Their support has been phenomenal and we can’t thank them enough for taking on our building challenge.
Meet some of our builders below.
Owner of eight pharmacies across the North-East, Andy Porter challenged himself and his team to raise ten bricks. Colleagues, including Fran of Gardner Drive Pharmacy, rallied together, organising supermarket collections, a race night, and even a sky dive. They’ve smashed their original target, raising £11,431.
Sarah Downs and Catriona Stevenson
Businesswomen Sarah and Catriona put their best foot forward to raise their two bricks. The pair walked over hot flames at a Firewalk and raised funds at their annual Business Connect UK dinner.
Control Valve Solutions
The Engineering Consultants certainly don’t shy away from a challenge. The team pledged to raise the funds for ten bricks and took part in the nippy dippers, a Firewalk and an office Christmas jumper day.
Jazzercise instructor, Karen, put her expertise to good use by organising a sponsored jazzerthon. She and a hardy bunch of fitness enthusiasts took on seven hours of jazzercise, raising both a sweat and five bricks.
