Ted was hit by a car in 2000 and received severe head injuries and multiple other fractures. He required intensive care, including ventilation. His injuries resulted in both physical and cognitive impairment.
Ted has lived at Sue Ryder Cuerden Hall since
2004, when he was discharged from hospital, and it was decided that he needed to receive the best possible active rehabilitation. At Cuerden Hall, Ted underwent a comprehensive programme of treatments and therapies to help with his posture and communication.
Now his condition has stabilised, the team at Cuerden Hall continue his rehabilitation programme to this day, and Ted receives daily physiotherapy. He also benefits greatly from weekly hydrotherapy and multisensory therapy sessions.
