How can I get referred to Manorlands Hospice?

Referrals come from many sources such as health professionals, the patients themselves or their families.  The permission of the patients' GP or hospital consultant is always sought before a referral is accepted. We are always available for people to be referred back to our care after they have been discharged if they need additional help.

How do I source information about the quality of care you provide?

We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and carry out regular audits of our care and services to ensure we are following best practice. Every year we produce a Quality Account that highlights our priorities for quality improvement over the year.

How do I feedback a comment about the service?

Feedback from our patients and their families is very important to us as it helps us to identify how we are doing and if we can improve our service. We issue patient feedback surveys within the Inpatient Unit and the community on a regular basis.

Is there a smoking area?

Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the main hospice building. There is a designated area within the grounds of the hospice, which is a short walk from the main Hospice building.

Is there any charge for my care?

There is no charge for people receiving care from the hospice. Patients, families, carers and friends may make a donation or a contribution to our work if they wish. There are also many fundraising events that you may wish to support.  This is always gratefully received.

Can children come and visit?

Yes they are welcome to visit but must be supervised by an appropriate adult at all times.

Are pets allowed?

Yes they are welcome to visit but must be suitably behaved and supervised by an appropriate adult at all times.
