Stuart came to one of our hospices to attend the day therapy service, but before the end of his scheduled 12 sessions, his condition deteriorated and he was admitted to the inpatient unit.
At that point, his wife put work on hold and we moved her into the hospice to be beside Stuart 24 hours a day.
After 10 days, we moved more beds into Stuart’s room so his children could stay with him, too.
He passed away, knowing his precious family were by his side.
And they knew he felt totally loved at the end of his life. The family told us they felt so lucky to have been able to do this.
