Van Driver's Assistant
Sue Ryder's charity shop team is looking for a Volunteer Van / Driver's Assistant to help maximise donations of goods to our shops in Ely and the surrounding area.
You'll help collect furniture, boxes of bric-a-brac and bags of clothing, providing an efficient and courteous collection service to our donors.
You will need to have:
map reading and route planning skills
a polite and friendly disposition
the ability to work as part of a team
good communication skills
good fitness levels – some lifting may be required.
Manual handling training will be provided. Ideally you'll be able to commit to a half or full day per week.
We would love you to be part of the team and so we are happy to provide training and in some cases we are able to reimburse some travel expenses for shifts over 4 hours, and we can provide a reference to prospective employers. We can also offer NVQs in retail skills and customer service (eligibility criteria apply).
Arrange a taster session to try out the role and meet the team.
This is a great way to gain experience, make new friends, and help Sue Ryder provide incredible care to people living through the challenges of life-limiting conditions.
