Merchandise Admin Assistant – Merchandise Department

Role Purpose
Its an exciting opportunity for someone to gain experience with an established buying and merchandising team. You will have the opportunity to develop your admin skills whilst supporting Sue Ryder's retail team to stay efficient, and play a part in maximising funds for our healthcare services across the UK.
Providing administrative support to the Sue Ryder - Merchandise Team 
Reporting into the Assistant Merchandiser
Role Overview
Supported by a small friendly team, you'll be involved in:
Data entry –  The system is Microsoft Nav, so having used a back office system is useful - Training will be given
Updating spreadsheets
Assisting merchandise team with meeting preparation e.g.
o Buying meetings
o Sign off meetings
General day to day admin requirements
Answering phones, message taking and answereing queries when confident to do so
Training for the role will be given, including using the new EPOS system. This person needs to be computer literate. Excel is a must, so a basic knowledge is essential. Skills training will be given to give this person a good all round knowledge of excel at a higher level.
Hours to cover, preferably Monday to Thursday: 
10:00 am to 3:00 pm
  • Good working knowledge of basic Excel and Word.
  • Excellent (telephone) communication and customer service skills.
  • Maths and English skills:  To have at least passed school qualifications at a good level.
  • Experience of working as part of a team. 
  • Experience of providing administrative support in a previous role.
  • Understanding of a Charity Organisation.
  • Development of excel beyond the basics and computer system skills. 
  • Working within a retail team environment.
  • Learning about the buying and merchandise function within a retail organisation (a good stepping stone for somone if they were thinking about this as a career path).
  • We will provide a reference if required. 
  • Local travel expenses for shifts of 4 hours or longer will be reimbursed.
