Fundraising Group Chair

Role Purpose
Would you like to do something worthwhile in your spare time, help raise money for a good cause and make a really positive impact in your local community? Do you have a network of friends who could help form a Fundraising Group?
 
Role Overview
Sue Ryder is looking for a voluntary Fundraising Group Chair to lead a new Fundraising Group in Berkshire. 
As Chair, you will lead the group and ensure that it maximises community fundraising opportunities in the area to help raise income and awareness for Sue Ryder. As part of this you will also:
  • Ensure the group adheres to the guidelines outlined in the Fundraising Group Handbook
  • Encourage all group members to take active roles within the group and help to recruit new members
  • Chair meetings to ensure an agenda is arranged and minutes taken
  • Keep the Senior Fundraiser informed of activities
  • Encourage support from your local community through events, collections, talks and other activities as agreed.
 
 
Commitment: Flexible - One meeting per month, and various activities throughout the year.
 
Skills
Ideally you will:
  • Have good communication skills
  • Be a confident team leader with the ability to delegate, manage and enthuse people
  • Have good organisational skills
 
Experience
Previous experience of leading people, organising group events and fundraising would be an advantage but are not essential.
