Volunteer Collections Assistant

Role Purpose
Support Sue Ryder – Duchess of Kent Hospice by carrying out fundraising bucket collections at local shops.
 
Role Overview
This is great opportunity to really make a difference to Sue Ryder’s vital fundraising and awareness raising. We have collections arranged at stores in and around Berkshire and will continue to seek opportunities to promote Sue Ryder. 
 
The role involves:
  • wearing something with Sue Ryder branding e.g. (sash/t-shirt)
  • holding a collection bucket or tin and gently encouraging people to give (but without asking for donations or “tin rattling”)
  • being prepared to explain a little about Sue Ryder’s local and national work (information and training will be provided)
Collection opportunities are available in and around Berkshire
 
 
Commitment: Flexible but regular as collection opportunities arise.
 
Skills
We'll need you to have:
  • a passion for the work of Sue Ryder and the hospice
  • good verbal communication skills
  • flexibility to approach a number of varied tasks
  • good organisation and planning skills
  • the ability to work under own initiative

Training will be provided.
