Volunteer Collections Assistant
Support Sue Ryder – Duchess of Kent Hospice by carrying out fundraising bucket collections at local shops.
This is great opportunity to really make a difference to Sue Ryder’s vital fundraising and awareness raising. We have collections arranged at stores in and around Berkshire and will continue to seek opportunities to promote Sue Ryder.
The role involves:
wearing something with Sue Ryder branding e.g. (sash/t-shirt)
holding a collection bucket or tin and gently encouraging people to give (but without asking for donations or “tin rattling”)
being prepared to explain a little about Sue Ryder’s local and national work (information and training will be provided)
Collection opportunities are available in and around Berkshire
Commitment: Flexible but regular as collection opportunities arise.
We'll need you to have:
a passion for the work of Sue Ryder and the hospice
good verbal communication skills
flexibility to approach a number of varied tasks
good organisation and planning skills
the ability to work under own initiative
Training will be provided.
Reimbursement of reasonable local travel expenses for shifts over 4 hours
A reference to prospective employers.
This is a great opportunity to gain and develop your experience in the healthcare sector, make new friends, and help Sue Ryder provide incredible care to individuals living with life-limiting conditions.
