New goods and part-clearance

At Sue Ryder Stockton we stock a varied range of new goods including doll's houses, home and garden wares, electrical items and musical instruments. We are also a part-clearance store stocking clothing, bric-a-brac, electrical and entertainment goods at bargain prices.

A building with rich heritage

The building that Sue Ryder occupies has quite a rich heritage, as it was once the home of Joseph Dodds who was the first MP for Stockton (elected 1868) and the general lieutenant for the county of Durham. He lived here for three years from 1865-1868. It has also had businesses over the years, one of which was Timothy Whites. Whites was founded in 1848 and specialised in house wares. They later merged with The Taylor Drug Co Ltd and eventually became Boots the chemist we know today.

Widest High Street in the UK

Stockton is a bustling market town and has been for over 700 years with a real community feel to it. It hosts the International Riverside Festival which is held every summer and is a real crowd bringer. Stockton boasts - among other things - the widest high street in the UK and the biggest outdoor climbing centre. It also has white water rafting course at the Tees barrage, which is only one of two in the UK.
