Over 20 years at the heart of Sherborne
Sherborne's Sue Ryder shop is situated right at the heart of this small, historic Dorset town, next to the impressive Sherborne Abbey and facing onto the Abbey Green. The store moved to these premises just over 20 years ago
We upcycle and repurpose donations
We always welcome donations and accept small furniture and electricals as well as the usual clothing, bric-a-brac and books. We will also collect large donations such as furniture or house clearances by arrangement. We also upcycle and repurpose donated items which we sell as “saved" goods in store; recently we took a trader’s stall at the Big Little Market with these products.
Our volunteers span 15 to 87 years old
We also welcome volunteers from all walks of life. Currently our team spans an age range of 15 to 87 years. We have links with several local community groups and schools and join in with varied local events and activities. Recent endeavours have involved working with Sherborne Area Partnership, Sherborne Douzelage, The Gryphon School and Riley's Cycles.
Directions by car
The shop’s postal address reflects its front door which opens onto the pedestrian-only footpath of Church Lane - a fact which confuses users of Satnav. If coming by car and using Satnav use Half Moon St as the address to find the nearest vehicular access.
Whilst there are parking restrictions here, there is a loading bay opposite the Half Moon Pub which is useful if bringing donations.
