Sue Ryder Foundation in Malawi works with disabled people living in Balaka and Ntcheu, two of the most remote rural communities in central Malawi. The vulnerable people in these communities are out of reach of government health systems and from help offered by other organisations.
Sue Ryder Foundation in Malawi is the only organisation that works with people who have chronic conditions, such as epilepsy and asthma, as well as disabled people, many with cerebral palsy; all of whom have no access to appropriate medication or medical care.
Over 10,000 people a year benefit from the care provided by the Sue Ryder Foundation in Malawi, including 8,000 children.
"We never thought we would get help like this in my village. Please continue helping my people. Previously, they did not have access to good medical care because of poverty, but since your organisation arrived the lives of my people have improved and they are very grateful. Thank you."
Chief Samuel, Kasinje Village, Ntcheu District
