For us healthcare and the environment go hand in hand

Sue Ryder provides compassionate care for people with palliative, end of life and long-term needs. We are a national charity that delivers services within local communities.

The Charity aims:

  • To manage its activities, products and services with consideration for the environment and in a manner consistent with its values
  • To identify key areas of environmental impact; and to have a carbon reduction strategy resulting in action plans that set targets and objectives for continual environmental improvement
  • To develop and maintain environmental management system’s (EMS) throughout the organisation with the aim to achieve ISO14001 complying with all legal and other requirements; and to prevent pollution
  • Seek efficiency improvements on an ongoing basis across the Charity’s activities, products and services
  • Communicate and make available this policy and information about the environmental performance of the charity to all stakeholders through calculating its carbon footprint
  • To consider as part of the procurement process ‘sustainability’ and where practicable, purchase goods and services to the highest environmental standards
